1、characteristics
White extremely unstable solid, easily mixed with organic matter or reducing agent. The aqueous solution is alkaline and slowly decomposes into NaCl, NaClO3 and O2, which is rapidly decomposed by heat and is highly oxidizing.
Sodium hypochlorite is mainly used in many fields such as bleaching, industrial wastewater treatment, paper making, textile, pharmaceutical, fine chemical, sanitation and disinfection, etc., specifically:
1. For the bleaching of pulp, textiles (such as cloth, towels, sweatshirts, etc.), chemical fibers and starch;
2. The soap industry is used as a bleaching agent for oils and fats;
3. The chemical industry is used to produce hydrazine hydrate, monochloramine and dichloramine;
4. A chlorinating agent for producing cobalt and nickel;
5. Used as water purifying agent, bactericide and disinfectant in water treatment;
6. The dye industry is used to manufacture sulphurized royal blue;
7. The detergent used in the organic industry to produce chloropicrin and hydrated calcium carbide to acetylene;
8. Agricultural and animal husbandry used as disinfectants and deodorants for vegetables, fruits, farms and livestock houses;
9. Food grade sodium hypochlorite is used for disinfection of beverage water, fruits and vegetables, sterilization of food manufacturing equipment and utensils, but it cannot be used for food production process using sesame as raw material.
